Office Paper Weight

The weight or substance per unit area is obviously fundamental in paper and paper board products. The Basis weight of paper is the weight per unit area expressed in grammes per square metre. 80gsm is suitable for everyday use and this is the most popular weight of paper for general office and business usage. 90gsm is suitable for colour printing and for general usage. 100 & 120 gsm are suitable for company letterheads, important correspondence and prestigous mailings. 160 gsm is suitable for arts and crafts.

Office Paper Colour

Paper is available in a vast variety of colours and tints. Colour paper is useful for coding office paperwork, faxes, memos and other printed materials. Coloured paper is also ideal to add impact to your important documents and presentations.

Taking Care of your Paper

Damp - Paper is made to exacting low moisture levels (normally 4.5%). If exposed to damp conditions the paper will not perform to its optimum levels and in some circumstances will not feed into machines efficiently.

Cold Conditions - Always allow paper to warm up to room temperature before use. Paper performs best at around.

Overheating - Storing paper in direct sunlight or by a heat source upsets the moisture balance in paper and can lead to it drying out. This is often the cause of paper jamming in office copiers and printers.
